India boys has won Asia Cricket Council’s Under-19 Asia Cup by beating Sri Lanka on Friday here in Colombo. Abhishek Sharma-led team defeated the host side by 34 runs in the final match held at R Premadasa Stadium.
India has won the toss and posted 273 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Opener Himanshu Rana (71) and Shubman Gill (70) registered fifties in the innings. Lanka bowlers Nipun Rashmika and Praveen Jayawickrama claimed 3 wickets each.
In the chasing, SL colts all out for 239 runs in 48.4 overs. Opener Reven Kelly scored 62 runs and skipper Kamindu Mendis added 53 runs. But the rest of the batting line didn’t contribute well in the task. India captain has shown his ability in bowling also as he captured 4 wickets for 37 runs in 10 overs. Rahul Chahar has taken 3 wickets for 22 runs in 10 overs.
